Orientation Week 2019

To help make sure you’re ready to go when classes start on 25 February, we have an orientation programme to prepare you with the key information you need to get started.

It's an exciting time for the University of Waikato and the greater Bay of Plenty region with the development of the Tauranga CBD tertiary campus.

Our flexible degree structures mean you can study a broad range of subjects to shape a qualification that matches your career interests.

The University of Waikato manages two accommodation complexes in Tauranga, Durham Mews Apartments and Mayfair Court Apartments.

  • Helping to grow the region’s future (30 January 2019)

    The University is working with businesses across the Bay of Plenty to help meet the region’s skills needs, foster innovation and ensure qualifications are industry-relevant.

  • When two Heads are better than one (23 January 2019)

    Anaru Palmer and Leah Owen, departing head prefects of Tauranga Boys’ and Tauranga Girls’ Colleges, start their tertiary journey at the University of Waikato in Tauranga and will be amongst the first cohort of students at the new city campus.

  • Moving mountains (22 January 2019)

    Not even mountains will hold Professor Lynda Johnston back. The self-professed geographer and mountaineer with “attitude and altitude” is off to experience some of the world’s tallest peaks in the Himalayas before returning home to navigate the Kaimai’s, relocating from Hamilton to Tauranga.
