Postgraduate Diplomas in Education

These qualifications are for Bachelor of Teaching/Education graduates (or those with a degree plus a teaching qualification). The PGDip (Ed) is for graduates who want a flexible postgraduate qualification in Education.

A themed programme can be tailored to specific intellectual needs, interests and aspirations. Alternatively, a prescribed programme of study in a specific subject is available for educators who want to advance their academic and professional understanding in areas such as Educational Leadership or Mathematics Education.

A PGDip is worth 120 points at 500 Level (four 30 point papers) and requires completing optional and compulsory papers offered in the relevant Postgraduate Diploma. The PGDip is equivalent to one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) study.

A PGDip is a pathway to a Masters degree. To undertake a 120-point thesis for a Master of Education an approved 30 point 500 Level Research Methods paper is needed.
