The Bachelor of Business (Financial) (BBA Fin) is a three-year degree with a particular emphasis on financial management, so you can get your qualification and get on with investment banking or stockbroking or any number of other financial sector careers. Rather than covering the broader aspects of business management, you'll look in depth at the quantitive disciplines.
In Tauranga, you'll study a core programme of business papers and choose a major in Accounting or Finance (Economics is also available as a major but can only be studied in Hamilton.)

If you choose to major in Accounting, you can use this degree as a route to meet the academic requirements for membership of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA).
Start your BBA(Fin) in Tauranga by first enrolling in the NZ Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. If you complete the NZDipBus with at least a B grade average, you will be guaranteed admission to the BBA(Fin) with credit of at least ten papers towards the degree.
Complete the degree in Tauranga by studying University of Waikato papers at the Bongard Centre.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic staff will provide information and advice on the NZDipBus including the papers you should take.
Once you have commenced your NZDipBus, we recommend you discuss your intended degree programme with University staff. We will help you to plan your programme of study and advise you on degree and subject requirements, which is particularly important if you are interested in a double major.
