Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences)
Biological Sciences is for those who love life.Whether you want to stand in a metre of mud, on top of a tree, perhaps under the sea or on a kilometre of Antarctic ice, biology is for you.Start your Bachelor of Science (with a major in Biological Sciences) in Tauranga by first enrolling in the Diploma in Environmental Management Level 6 or the Diploma in Marine Studies Level 6 at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. Once you have completed the two years of either Diploma with a B grade average you will be guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Science Degree (majoring in Biological Sciences) and receive credit of 14 papers or 240 points towards the degree.
Following this path you can complete the final year of the degree in Tauranga by studying University papers offered at the Windermere Campus we share with the Polytechnic.
The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic staff will provide information and advice on the Diploma in Environmental Management and the Diploma in Marine Science, including the papers you should take.
Once you have commenced your Diploma, we recommend you discuss your intended programme of study with University staff. We will advise you on degree and subject requirements.
