Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences)Biological Sciences is the study of life. From botany and ecology through to marine and freshwater sciences, study and career options in this field are abundant.
Start your Bachelor of Science (with a major in Biological Sciences) in Tauranga by first enrolling in the Diploma in Environmental Management Level 6 or the Diploma in Marine Studies Level 6 at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. If you complete the two years of either Diploma with a B grade average you will be guaranteed admission to the Bachelor of Science Degree (majoring in Biological Sciences) with credit of up to 14 papers or 240 points towards the degree. This applies only to those coming through the agreed pathway. All others are on a case-by-case basis.
Following this path you can complete the final year of the degree in Tauranga by studying University papers offered at the Windermere Campus we share with the Polytechnic.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic staff will provide information and advice on the Diploma in Environmental Management and the Diploma in Marine Science, including the papers you should take.
Once you have commenced your Diploma, we recommend you discuss your degree programme with University staff. We will advise you on degree and subject requirements.

Choose two Elective Papers from the following: BIOL234, BIOL224 and GEOG328. In some cases students can choose to complete BIOL307: Special Topic but this paper requires approval from the Faculty.
