Aquatic and Fitness Centre

Located at Windermere campus, the Aquatic Centre facilities include a full gym, thermally heated 25 metre swimming pool and fitness room for regular fitness classes. Discounted monthly or annual membership includes fitness assessments, individually designed programmes and fitness classes.

Atrium Hair Salon

BOP Polytechnic students offer supervised hairdressing services through the Atrium Hair Salon at Windermere Campus.

Bay Auto

Bay Auto Service at Windermere offers a full range of automotive servicing and repair work to current students and staff.

Beauty Salon

The Atrium Beauty Salon offers a range of beauty services, including: facials, waxing, lash and eyebrow tinting and shaping, and all treatments are supervised by qualified beauty therapists and tutors.

Cafes

Students can access four cafes at Windermere Campus; Rex's Cafe in the Rex Williams Centre, Cafe X on the ground floor of Ako Atea, and the Library Cafe upstairs in Ako Atea. There's also the Lunch Box next to the Aquatic Centre. The cafes serve hot and cold food and drinks and there are also vending machines on both campuses.

Childcare Centre

Windermere's licensed Childcare Centre provides quality education from trained teachers for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Copy Centre

The Copy Centre team at Windermere provides photocopying, printing, binding and laminating services for students as well as lots of helpful presentation advice.

Health Centre

A Health Centre is situated in L2 and L3. The Health Nurse is located in L3, and Family Planning, Counselling and Physiotherapy are located in L2. The Health Centre offers free care and advice. Services include; treatment of injuries and minor health problems, family planning, physiotherapy, counselling, smoking cessation support, monitoring and preventing chronic conditions, health screening and health education.

Learning Support

Ako Awe, located in the Te Aongahoro building (A block) at the Windermere campus, can assist students with a wide range of study-related concerns. The main focus is to help students acquire the skills to become independent, self-directed learners. To make an appointment phone 571 0190, or call in and meet the friendly Ako Awe team. Restaurant

The Atrium Training Restaurant at Windermere is open to students and the public for three-course meals at very competitive rates.

Student Recruitment Advisor - Andy Howells

Andy is based at the Windermere Campus in Tauranga to ensure that the University of Waikato is more accessible to students in the Bay of Plenty and wider regions. He is the first point of contact for local students for course information and advice. The student recruitment advisor also visits secondary schools and attends career expos and events around the country. Student Experience

Based at the Rex Williams Centre at Windermere, the Student Experience team is there to enhance the student experience by organising events like Orientation Weeks and the annual Student Ball. They also provide students with free copies of the Student Handbook, Wall Planners and Calendars. Tel. 07 571 0190 ext. 6870. Office hours: Mon - Fri, 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Te Kohanga Reo o Poike

Te Kohanga Reo o Poike is a language nest of Te Reo Māori for the tamariki of staff, students and the local community.

Waikato Student Union (WSU)

The WSU maintains a strong link with all members whether they are in Tauranga or Hamilton. Tauranga students are represented on the WSU Board through a specific portfolio held jointly by the WSU Vice President and Vice President Maori. Nexus is the official student magazine of the WSU and is distributed free every week during term time. You can pick up a copy of Nexus from Student Experience at the Rex Williams Centre, the Bongard Centre or Ako Atea at the Windermere Campus.
