Bongard Centre

Cafes

The Bongard Centre has a great student cafe, located on Level 5. This roof-top cafe offers fabulous views of Tauranga's CBD and harbour. The cafe serves hot and cold food and drink, and vending machines are also available. On the same floor, students will find Student Experience a ping pong table, pool table and outdoor seating area.

Health Centre

A Health Centre is situated on Level 1. A Registered Nurse is available for free care and advice and a limited number of free doctor's appointments are available once a week at the Windermere campus.

Information Centre

Located on level one, the Bongard Centre Information Centre Advisors are your first point of contact for programme details, study options, enrolment information and guidance on all those questions you may have. Advisors provide information on all University of Waikato and Bay of Plenty Polytechnic programmes.

Learning Support

Ako Awe located on level one of the Bongard Centre, can assist students with a wide range of study-related concerns. The main focus is to help students acquire the skills to become independent, self-directed learners. See also study support.

Student Advisor - Anne-Marie Kell

Based at the Bongard Centre, Anne-Marie assists University Management, Law and Computer Science students.

She can help:
  • returning Waikato students with course planning, issues resolution and administrative queries, and
  • students who wish to transition from Bay of Plenty Polytechnic qualifications to University of Waikato qualifications
She also provides:
  • administrative support for University Tutors based at the Bongard Centre and
  • liaison support between Faculties of the University and the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic for Bongard related issues

Student Experience

Located on Level 5 of the Bongard Centre, the Student Experience team is there to enhance the student experience by organising events like Orientation Weeks and the annual Student Ball. They also provide students with free copies of the Student Handbook, Wall Planners and Calendars. Tel. 07 571 0190 ext. 5508. Office hours Mon, Tues & Thurs, 11am - 2pm. Closed Friday, both staff at Windermere.
